How can I get my book published?
The first step is to read our submission guidelines and follow the instructions.
Where can I buy Cillian Press Published books online?
All our titles are stocked by most major online retailers including The BookDepository, Amazon, Watersones online, BN.com and many more, but are also available at selected stores in the UK.
How long does it take to get a book published?
The length of time between submission and publication will depend on a number of things including:
1. The amount of work required to get the book to a final copy.
2. The length of time for the review process.
3. Date of submission – we generally aim to publish books in Spring and Autumn.
Do I have to pay to get my book published?
Do I need an agent?
No. At Cillian Press we work with authors directly through the entire life cycle of the publishing process. If you have an agent, that's fine too.
Who holds the copyright in the books?
All our authors retain the copyright in their books.
How do I know if you have received my submission?
You will receive an email confirmation to let you know that we have received your manuscript. Note – we do not accept hard copies.
When will you get back to me following receipt of my submission?
Due to an increase in submission numbers we are working through a very long list of manuscripts. Each manuscript that we receive is carefully reviewed and we are doing our utmost to reduce review times and speed up the shortlist process. The current review time is approximately 12 weeks, however this is a flexible estimate depending on the number of manuscripts that we need to read through. Please don't be disheartened if you don't hear from us within a few months of your submission. Once it is has been reviewed we promise to get back to you with our decision.
If you like my book what will happen?
All our authors are treated as individuals, and the exact path to a published book will depend on each individual manuscript submitted. If your manuscript has been selected from the shortlist process, you will be contacted by a Cillian team member to discuss. We will generally go through the publication process, including edits, jacket cover and marketing strategy. This will be an on-going process, as our aim is to work with our authors to ensure that they are happy with any decisions made. Only once we are sure that you are satisfied with our strategy we will discuss the terms and conditions.
Can I contact your authors?
Whilst we cannot provide personal contact details for our authors we are happy to forward all author email; however we cannot guarantee a response.
How do I book an Author for my event?
If you would like one of our authors to appear at your literary event or festival please contact our marketing team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who do I contact if I want to quote one of your books?
If you want to quote a Cillian Press book in any media form (electronic, print, audio) please contact us at email@example.com.
How do I request a review copy?
